After the Germans were defeated in the first world war, Hitler was found guilty of treason. The Nazis appeared in the election and won. After many mysterious happenings, Hitler was given full power by Parliment and soon became Führer when President Hindenburg died. He made his own legal system, elimanted oppisition parties and started the kill fo Jews. When the kills got out of hand, the figth for the Jews fredom got it's name as the Holocaust.

A story that touched me about the Holocauast is called The Devils Arithmetic because the girl in the story is just like me and what she went through with her family is close to what I go through. Sometimes I don't listen to what my grandparents talk to me about and that is what she did. She learned the hard way about learning about the past when she traveled back to the time of the Holocaust and when through what part of her family did.

We need to remember the Holocaust so we can all learn from our mistakes. Hitler made a huge mistake when he changed everyone's thoughts about Jews. They lost so many of their kind, just because of their beliefs. It was horrible and our world doesn't need to go through anything like it once again.
